Around me, I can see lights twinkling from the trees.
Inside the stores, I hear songs signifying my favorite time of the year.
Outside in the streets, the decorations reveal that I’m not the only one feeling festive this year.
As the winter chill settles, people bustle about bundled in their favorite seasonal clothes.
The Christmas tree, alone in the streets, is dazzled with lights, a treat for the eyes to feast.
Even though I’m miles from home, the twinkling lights somehow transport me back to a simpler time when my family was near.
I may be far from home, but I think that this Christmas will be one I can bear.
